On The Couch With Lorraine
Lorraine Bracco is probably best known for her role as Tony Soprano's psychatrist, but Lorraine has been in the business of entertainment for many years now. She recently gave a short interview for People Magazine where she recalled her early days as a fashion model. Lorraine graduated from Hicksville High School in 1972 and moved into Manhattan full-time to becme a model. I can attest to the fact that she is very tall as I was one year behind her in school. Her brother and my brother, who also went to the same high school several years earlier, were best friends. Lorraine didn't stay in Manhattan very long. She was swept away by a few of her friends to Paris, France where she was told she could have a very good career as a fashion model. She was no super model, but she worked constantly, even posing in a tub full of live escargot (that's snails) wearing only gobs of jewelry for the surrealist painter, Salvador Dali. It was an exciting life, but shallow and she much prefers acting. You can read all about her adventures in her new book 'On The Couch'.
