Latest Fashion Trend Is A Fashion Don't

Whenever I hear the word "leggings", an image of Oliva Newton John singing 'Let's Get Physical' pops into my brain. The other image is of Jennifer Beals, before she played a lesbian on 'The L Word' dancing furiously to 'She's A Maniac'. The other image is of me when my kids were babies. Leggings became the 'stretch pants' alternative of my mother's generation, that allowed me to get dressed in a hurry to get where I was going with two little kids in tow. There was nothing fashionable about it. It was easy access clothing that allowed me to be where I had to be. It also kept me in denial about a weight issue that I needed to address. The leggings kept me from myself so to speak. When they went out of fashion, I finally came to the realization that I had to whip myself into shape so I could wear jeans once again. Then some genious found out how to incorpate spandex into everything including cute white t-shirts and my favorite jeans. Now, leggings are back in style as shown in the picture. Cute, calf-length and worn with skirts and dresses. This is not a fashion trend that can be attempted by just anyone. I believe the qualifactions for this trend is to be under a size '2' and under the age of 14. Anyone else attempting this look, does so at their own risk. I can safely say I will pass on this look and wait until someone can come up with something that women my age can wear!

I can't believe these things are back in style. I remember when I was a little kid in the 80's and I wore those. I can;t see myself wearing them again. I think you are right kids under the age of 14 can wear then and that's it.
