The Little White T-Shirt

When I was thinking about writing this post about what you absolutely have to have for this summer, in terms of your wardrobe, the first thing that popped into my head was a crisp, white t-shirt. This one item has been a staple in womens' wardrobes for years. Ever since Sharon Stone showed up at the Oscars one year in a black taffeta skirt and Gap t-shirt, the little, white t-shirt has become a must-have for all women from sixteen to sixty. By the way, don't think that your little, white t-shirt from last year will do. No amount of bleach will bring back that vivid, whiteness that your t-shirt once possessed. You have to go out and buy at least one new one every year. You don't have to spend a fortune either, but don't think stealing your husband's or boyfriend's is a good substitute. You must have one made just for you. The Gap t-shirts are great and sell for just under $20, but you can get better bargains on t-shirts at Old Navy, Kohl's or even Walmart Actually, Walmart sells very nice plain, tagless t-shirts from Faded Glory, for around $7. Your brand new, crisp white t-shirt will go with everything else in your wardrobe from a business suit, to your favorite jeans, capris and shorts. It's a no brainer when you don't know what else to wear and you can dress it up with great jewelry or throw it on to walk the dog. This is one item that never goes out of style and it can actually take years off you just by wearing it. So, if you've been thinking about how you can spruce up your wardrobe without spending a fortune, start with one little white t-shirt and the rest will fall into place!

I agree with you Susan. But I prefer a white tank top.

You're right t-shirts are a great way to add different looks. With a simple necklace and/or blazer, you can really dress them up. I also think the Gap t-shirts are the best!!!
