MAC's Trying To Get Your Attention!

This past weekend, my family and I went away for the weekend. We spent a good part of Saturday doing what my kids enjoy most: spending our money. We walked around a very nice mall that had, for the most part, all the nice stores you see in malls all over this country. One of those stores was MAC, the cosmetic manufacturer of upscale make-up for women. The operative word her is 'women'. Generally speaking, MAC never has to use any kind of ploy to get customers into their stores. There are more message boards dedicated to this line of cosmetics than there are to Barry Manilow. Their eye shadows and lip glosses are said to hold the same kind of powerful tendancy toward addiction, much like heroin. You're probably wondering why then do I have a photo of this hunky guy. Knowing how popular this line is with most women under the age of 40, I was kind of surprised to see two bare-chested men (much like my friend here to the left) being first made-up from the neck down, with MAC's newest lip gloss colors. The two boy-toys then walked around outside the store and attempted to entice women (mostly middle-aged on a Saturday afternoon) to come in and try the new color line. It was the type of scene that made me cringe inwardly and also made me wonder why MAC felt that they needed to stoop to this level of marketing in order to entice women to come into the store. It also makes me wonder if there was a man behind this device. Any self-respecting woman would never stoop to this level in order to lure in customers. Just plaster the word "sale" all aover the store windows, and we'll be there in a flash!

LOL Susan, You are right about putting a SALE sign on the door. Although you've got to admit this guy is some nice eye candy. But I find it kind of odd for a man to marketing make-up. My question is did it work?
