The Bachelor: A Little More Rome-ance

The newest season of ABC's 'The Bachelor' started last night with a two-hour season opener. So who's the newest victim, I mean er, bachelor? He's Lorenzo Borghese, who although technically an Italian prince, is about as Italian as Regis Philbin and about as royal as Paris Hilton. He does come from a long line of high-brows, including one Pope, but this is a boy who grew up in Connecticut and I speak more Italian that he does, which isn't saying much. Nevertheless, Rome is a very romantic setting for this season's show, but no one couldn't convince me that the famous rose ceremony isn't well choreographed to produce an outcome of back-biting, clawing and general all-out nastiness in the weeks to come. By the way, for you Home Shopping fans, Lorenzo's older brother and mom can be seen on a regular basis selling Perlier, a line of bath and body products, while Lorenzo himself has another line of bath and body products......for dogs. He's a cutie and a catch, but chances are that this is one bachelor who probably won't find his princess on a reality show, but it's sure good publicity!
