The Wonders of Tea Tree Oil
A few years back, I was introduced to tea tree oil. It actually came in a product that was a toner for the face. I found it amazingly effective in treating any kind of break out on my face or shoulders. I had eventually started purchasing products from a company called Melaleuca (which is another name for tea tree). Most if not all of their products are based on the wonders of tea tree oil. I found I could purchase it in a local natural food store (Trader Joe's) so I started purchasing it there. This product can be used for just about anything from helping to heal scrapes and abrasions (it's a natural anti-septic) to boosting your household cleaning products (it can be added to your laundry detergent, floor cleaner or glass cleaning product for an extra cleaning boost). Others claim it can be used as a mouth rinse (just don't swallow) and can be used on warts, nail fungus and athlete's foot. One person reported using it to help clear up a sinus infection by adding it to their humidifier (just a few drops). Dabbing just a drop on a pimple will just about clear it up overnight. It can be diluted to treat lice, mites and other such nasties, but keep it away from your cat as it may very well be toxic to them. I did use it on my guinnea pigs and they had no such adverse reaction to it, but you don't want to take any chances with your pets. Check with your vetenarian if you're not sure. So, the next time you are in your health food or vitamin store, check to see if they carry this amazing product. It usually comes in a small bottle, but that little bottle will last a long time because it is such a potent product.
