Your Eyes Don't Lie

Years ago there was a song by a band called 'The Guess Who" who had a hit song entitled "These Eyes". If you don't remember it, then you can skip this post, but if you do and your a woman who is increasingly bothered by the aging going on around your eyes, then here's a quick beauty tip to give your eyes an instant lift. You will need a color palette like the one to the left which is from Maybelline (Expert Eyes). These shadows will give your eyes a great wash of color, without screaming "I'm wearing eye shadow dammit!". First use the middle shade to cover your whole lid. For flawless application, get rid of those horrid little sponge applicators and buy yourself some great application brushes (www.ulta.com). After you've applied the middle shade, apply the next darkest shade to the crease of your eye, emphasizing the outer corners. Line your eye with the darkest color and use the lightest shade just under your brow bone. Make sure you blend adequately, but don't pull too much. Also, get in the habit of using an eye treatment every day to fend off any further signs of aging. One of my favorites is Oil of Olay Regenerist Eye Treatment which not only will decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but will also take care of your dark circles. This is a great multi-tasking eye treatment. Finish off your look with mascara. Maybelline makes some great mascaras. The finished look will give you the appearance of an instant eye lift.

I love the Guess Who! Maybe the eye thing has something to do with their other song, "Laughing"?

I'd like to see a pic of the finished eye.

And yeah, I really need to do the eye treatment thing...I'll be 40 on Tuesday, and no crows feet YET, but I guess I'm livin' on borrowed time.
