The Color of Your Hair
At some point in time, almost everyone wants to change the color of their hair. It's a very scary proposition and most people don't know where to begin. The best place is at your salon, but changing color and keeping it up is costly and can add hundreds of dollars to your budget monthly. I really like the idea of a semi-permanent color. With a semi-permanent color you can usually go two shades up or down from your natural color and it will, at least initially, color your gray hair as long as there's not too much of it. Clairol's Natural Instincts is a very good product and you can purchase it in your drugstore or discount store for under $8. How is this different from permanent hair color? Well, for one thing, it will pretty much wash out of your hair after about 4-6 weeks (around 24 shampoos). Since there is very little or no bleaching properties in the color itself, it doesn't change the infrastructure of the hair, but rather the color surrounds itself around each hair. If the color is not for you, eventually it will fade after numerous shampoo washings and then you can try another shade. Changing your hair color can change your personality and how other people see you and gives you a new perspective of yourself. So, this is a great way to give hair color a try without making a very long-term committment.
