The Police
I've been a fan of the band, The Police, ever since I heard 'Roxanne' years ago. Their sound was so unique that it would be hard to categorize them in terms of style. They are reggae, jazz and rock all rolled into one. I've always loved Sting and he is one of the most talented song writers and musicians of my generation, but these songs from his band, The Police, are classics that are still popular even today and so recognizable. Of course, I am thrilled that they will be on tour this summer, but sadly I'm not going. My husband and son will be going this summer and getting tickets was no easy feat. The minute the tickets went on sale I scoured the internet trying to find tickets that wouldn't cost me a second mortgage on my house. For an hour I kept checking, but to get tickets to their appearance at Madison Square Garden was next to impossible, unless I wanted to get them through a ticket broker. Unbeknownst to me, my daughter who was at work with my husband that day was doing the very same thing. She too was on the computer trying to get tickets, but decided to go to the next closest venue which was in Boston. Finally, she was able to get only two tickets for their appearance in Boston, but the tickets aren't even together. Since my son had never seen them and who knows when they will be touring again, I gave up my ticket so that he could see them with my husband. Yes, I'm sad that I am not seeing The Police perform live, but there is one thing I can do to ease my pain and that's get their upcoming CD simply entitled 'The Police'. This is the definitive collection of all their hit songs and then some. The song tracks on the police cd are as follows:

I just got a brand new car with a sunroof, so you know I will be blasting this baby in my car all this summer. Okay, so I'm not going to see 'The Police' on tour this summer, but with my new car and my police cd,it's enough of a consolation that when I wave goodbye to my husband and son on the day they leave for Boston, I won't feel too bad and you never know, maybe The Police will love touring so much that they will decide to come back around next summer. If that happens, then you can be sure that I will be right there with them.
